Critical Incident Support Debriefing

We review the literature on CISD and consider contributing factors that can influence responses to critical incidents and highlight key principles and strategies to address challenging situations and guide practice and response. Case discussions are used to promote learning and application.

We then take participants through an example of a critical incident highlighting the specific steps involved in building awareness and competence in effectively utilising a CISD process.
